“To foster a home of collaboration and creativity in Detroit for the enjoyment of all people.”
Spot Lite Detroit is a dynamic, multifaceted venue located in the Islandview neighborhood on Detroit's east side. Established by Roula David and Jesse Cory, the space serves as a gallery, bar, coworking area, and record store, operating from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
The 7,900-square-foot venue is housed in a repurposed warehouse that was formerly Beyster Lumber. The building underwent a significant transformation, retaining its industrial charm while incorporating elements like a bar crafted from repurposed materials and a DJ booth made from an old foreman's desk.
Spot Lite aims to create a safe and welcoming environment for artistic expression. By day, it functions as a community coworking space and record shop, and by night, it transforms into a vibrant music venue and art gallery.
